Ok,look. I was hoping that the new versions of FMS would allow us to fly some 3D

Im not talking about standard hovering,Im talking about having Aileron control while hovering.

Would That Be to hard to put in the Sim?

And Also, how About Some Animated control Surfaces And Prop Speedup?

can you make the Prop Also Start not moving and go faster as you increase throttle?

Same with a Helicopter.

If You could Add animated rotor blade and tail rotor blades on a heli,I would not even buy any other sim.

In My opinion,Its the realism that sells a sim.

Ummm, have you tried flying a heli model like ThreeDee that supports 'collective pitch'? Not all the models appear to support reverse thrust on the rotors, but it's pretty easy to tell which ones do by rolling them over and hovering inverted...

Yeah ,I have.Im not sure you get what i mean.

Im talking about Really good Physics.

Ive been flyin helis for a long time,so i guess its preference on what someone wants.

Have you ever used the Pre-flight Sim?

Thats like what im talkin about.

But all of Pre-flights model controls suck.

Hi,

I've got a problem with the controls of the simulation. My controller unfortunately can't be
used with an adapter, I haven't got a joystick for my Laptop and...
I can't use the keyboard because of the key layout (numpad 1 and 2 are on the same keys as k and l, which really sucks :( )

So my question: Is there ANY possibility to change the keyboard setup so I can use
different keys to control my plan ???

Thanks

yeh ,there is in fact.

Umm....Lets see...

Go Up to Controls.
Then Click Keyboard
Then On the Control Tab you want to change,Click it and the key slot will be empty. Then you can just press the key you want that control tab to be.

Hope this Helps.

All that stuff i mentioned makes it all more the better.Think about it,If you had that stuff,on top of how good the planes fly(not the helis because they dont even fly realistic),then you would have a top notch sim on your hands.

Not tryin to say your off on anything but ,When i say realism,i mean Flys, looks, and moves like the real thing.

Disagree about the realism. The new G3 and other simulators need hugely powerful computers to run at decent framerates. I am running Alpha 8.5 on a 400 mhz Win98 machine and usually get 8 - 11 FPS, which is enough to operate on. I do not need complex scenery to learn the latest 3D moves, just a plane that moves precisely in the same way on the simulator as it does in real life.

Tsk ...
Let's not be ungrateful ....
Whatayawantfornothin'?

Anyone who has done a smattering of programming, understands a little of the enormity of the task...
Are the things you ask for possible? There is usually a way.
Does it take a while to implement them? Most certainly! Especially where you actually earn your living elsewhere and do the programming for hobby. At least we know these guys get no dough for their efforts in FMS. I'd bet if you offered they wouldn't turn it down though.
There is a limit in what might be practical. Some things might be included which you would think add to the realizm, but actually compromise the speed of the sim without significantly adding to the realizm.
In the end analysis, though the computers we now have are a significant improvement over those of yesterday, we keep dreaming up things we can do with them, and we find that we are are still limited by processing speed.
And limited by Time ....... Lord give me more time! :)

Ok ok ok,forget about what i all said before, this is the only thing i want.

Aileron control while hovering...................
Thats all im asking......A small patch could be made for that.

I know of some Supersonic Jets whose wing surfaces "Morph" (not sure if that is the right word, but I'll use it for lack of something better) into another shape, changing the flying dynamics as it crosses into supersonic speeds. I supposed that was the essence of the request. But perhap's he's referring to more of the experimental type of plane or jet which is able to take off vertically, (rocket type) and hover, but wind up flying like a plane. The Harrier might also be a case in point. These don't fly well in FMS.
I think I would welcome the inovation, but I'll still be happy with what I've got.

It seems easy to rename a helicopter parameter file to an aircraft parameter file. Then just fly the aircraft like a helicopter.
The aircraft can do too many 3D movements then.
