I had to re-install Windows ME on my computer. During the process, I got the following error:
Error SV0173 - "This version of Windows ME can't be installed on your computer. Please obtain the correct version from your maufacturer."
I found two another fellows on the net had the same problem, but the documents are in German! Can someone help me translate them? Here They are:
There is a translate function, but I still don't understand it. Anyway thanks. BTW, this is for a project dealing with FMS that I hope to present here if I can get my computer up.

I made a mistake. The error is SU0173.
Here is an email to tech support:
"I have successfully reinstalled ME on my computer twice. The first time was for missing files and the other to replace the HD. Recently I had to reinstall it again due to missing files. When I did this install, I got a SU0173 error: This version of Windows ME can't be installed on your computer. Please obtain the correct version from your manufacturer (or ABS). The following link describes it:
As you can see, this is a complicated problem. In addition, I did a hard format of my hard drive (all the files are gone), and I am not connected to the Internet (too many security issues). So I can't do the fix above.
I am stuck with a perfectly good computer and no operating system. Incidentally, all the restores have been done with the Magnell CD and floppy boot disk that came with my computer. I don't have any other software.
I need you to supply me with a disk, so I can reinstall my operating system. I am not sure exactly what I need, since there are both "full" and an "upgrade" versions. I hope you will be able to help me with this serious problem."
I have gotten tired of the constant problems with Windows (too many to list) and the Internet (security), so the only thing I use my PC for is FMS. If I don't get a fix, I'm just going to throw it in a box and forget about it!
