Helico: H3 un-mixer - support in FMS

Postby phildc » Sat Jan 08, 2005 3:37 pm

Transmitters (E-sky Channel 6 e.g.) that are made especially for small electric helicopters with a collective pitch are fitted with a trainer connector that outputs a PPM signal.
But they may have an internal H3 mixer that cannot be disabled.
(H3 = 3 servos at 120° for the cyclic)
The output signal cannot be used for FMS.
Hence the question: could FMS provide a sort of "un-mixer" option, to action the current heli's?

Or someone could find time to write this un-mixer in the smartpropo dll 's ?
Giving new dedicated versions.
This could give a temporary solution for all owners of small electro CP heli's

Any voluntary?

Hello,

I have a helicopter honey bee 2 (under rotor 3 servos at 120°) with transmitter E-sky Channel Six (Carboon CP is the same helicopter type ?).
With an oscilloscope and the software "analyser31.exe" I checked a PPM signal between pin 1 and 4 of the mini M plug on the transmitter.

FMS don't work with this transmitter, except on XP with smartpropo DLL Futaba PPM and home made cable plug in micro soundcard. Why ? I don't know!

The 98 versions of smartpropo don't work with this transmitter, the signal appear on monitor but channels don't move in any choice.

I am not a model making specialist, but I give to you my experimentations.

Maybe not a mixer, just the signal coding (sort of PCM).

Look at 'Zhen Hua' protocol for a possible explanation.
(PIC-Interface -> Need help with zhen Hua....)

Eric Brouwer provided a PIC tester program.

phildc,

Please don't add confusion to an already confusing question!
;)

"Channels Six" family of transmitters sold with various Chinese helicopters under the names of E-flite Blade CP, E-Sky HoneyBee CP, Twister CP, etc., has nothing to do with Zhen Hua protocol. Only 4-ch Walkera transmitters implement Zhen Hua, and that's a totally different ball game!

It is true, these TXs have non-disableable CCPM, which makes it impossible to use them with regular interfaces. Only the CCPM "un-mixing" interfaces from milehighwings.com allow the use of these transmitters with any supported simulators:

I hope this helps,
Boris
