New FMS 2.0 Alpha 8.5 doesnt support all channels from transmitters connected through SMARTPROPO.
I use a JR 3810. I had no problem in FMS 2.0 Alpha 8.3 so this may be a correctable fault of the new version.

i have corrected the joystick code for the version 2.0 alpha 8.4. Now only those channels that are reported to be valid by the Windows API, are displayed in the Ressources dialog and the Mapping / Calibration dialogs of the FMS. Only the valid channels can be used to control the models. Can you see all channels in the Ressources dialog for the joystickk inside FMS (Control -> Analog control -> Joystick interface -> Ressources)?
There may be two reasons for the SmartPropo not to work in FMS 2.0 alpha 8.5: Another bug has sneaked in while correcting the joystick routines of FMS or SmartPropo does not report correctly which channels are valid.

Hi,
New FMS 2.0 Alpha 8.5 supports only 3 channels with Smartpropo. I use Win XP Pro, SP2. My radios are Futaba 9CHP and JR 9X. Earlier versions of FMS have no problems and run correctly (supports more than 4 channels).
When I switched back to FMS Alpha 8.3, the problem disappeared. The problem must be with the FMS Alpha 8.5.

Hello Michael.

What compiler/c builder version should we use? I made the changes in the source code you mentioned, but when I compile it, it finds 12 errors in the code. It is possible that my compiler is too old. If you can, please, help.

The author of PPjoy, Deon van der Westhuysen, modified the smartpropo dlls, the new DLLs also does not produce Access Violations any longer - at least on his XP system. He made it possible to support 8 channels too. Unfortunately when I try to load these dlls it crashes, as the enty point cannot be found. The Dlls can be found in the last and final release of ppjoy (version 0.83). The author stopped the developement.

I tried to compile the original source code of smartpropo with Borland C++ 3.1 but it find lots of bugs/errors (12 errors) in the source code.

I tried to compile the orig source with Borland C++ Compiler 5.5.1 and it found 26 errors in the code!

I don't know what else to do. I'm not a C expert at all... ???

I have just downloaded the Borland C++ 5.5 comand line compiler, and the smartpropo source compiles with it. I have done the above modifications to the source and compiled into new dlls. The new source with the dlls can be found here:

You could try if it works, but the chance for it is rather small. I am not able to test it here myself. I have no idea wether I have set all compiler options right

Thanks for the quick help and for the dlls. I also downloaded that compiler but I could not make it. I could make asm from the code, but that is all

I've tested new dll's.
Modified Smartpropo works great with FMS 2.0 Alpha 8.5 and older versions.
