Plane modelling in Max? - Is it possible to make modells in 3dsmax

Hi

My question: is it possible to create the 3d modell of the airplane in 3dsmax ,or wings3d,or any other widespread 3d program, and then convert it into the correct format?

you can use any 3d modeling software, as long as you find a way to export to the Microsoft DirectX .x file format. The resulting .x file may contain only a single mesh, because the current verison of the FMS can not handle .x files with frames.

with 3dsmax it should not be a problem. Microsoft offers a free tool to convert .3ds to .x

i do not know the export details of wings3d, but if you ever model and export and airplane with it, please let me know. I have taken a look at this tool once and it looked really nice. I wonder what is possible to model with it and how long it takes ...
