problem on XP

Hi boys

I'm new, I'm writing from Santiago, Chile. I bought a cable interfase, and connect to my futaba 6xa transmitter on PCM modulation.

I have two problems:

First, I tried to run on my laptop Toshiba Satellite 1805, it is 256 RAM, 1.6 GHz, and runs many games hungry of video card. I guess it has directx 8.0 installed. It runs on XP home.

When I run FMS (I tried betas 7.0 and later 8.2) it stops before showing any graphic, shows a blue screen so fast I cant read anything and reboots. Very frustrating.

Second, I ran FMS on office (boss is far....jejejeje) on windows 2000 and it ran OK. But when trying to calibrate on proper COM (of course) bars seems so erratic, even when they tends to feel the movement of every stick. Very frustrating again.

From the floor, still, I guess somebody can lead me. I buy this product (the cable) since I need to practice heli techniques. I fly planes for years.

The fact that the interface works on 1 system indicates the unit is ok.

Check the port settings and if the system as an internal modem make sure they are not sharing the same interupt as the com port.

The other issue is the fact that the serial port on some laptops are of a lower operating voltage.

there are many problems with the FMS on laptops, mostly because of special
hardware (3d graphics, soundcard). The only thing you can do, is try to get
the latest drivers for your graphics card, mainboard (agp-port) and
soundcard.

I don't know what type of cable you use with your transmitter, but all
cables I know of, need FM modulation and not PCM.

I will try this evening with other TX futaba, tuned on FM modulation. I dont want to switch mi helicopter radio from PCM to FM since I will erase all the recorded settings.

The port com is OK, since I pass information from GPS to laptop through that seldomly and it works OK.
