FMS 8.1 - Loading Model.

Under FMS 8.1, when a model crashes, I have to reload the model from the menu each time in order to start flying again. Surely that is not right.

If you put a check in the auto-initialize box, it'll automatically restart after each crash. You can also check crash animation to have your model flop around when it hits something.

O.K. It worked, thanks. But then theengine will not start again unless I reload the model from the menu! What am I doing wrong?

Gas engines will not restart when throttle is zero. Electric motors will. The "I" button will initialize the model to the starting position and should make the throttle work again without reloading the model.

Many thanks, I understand now! However, how do I calibrate so that when the engine is at its lowest position it stays idling and does not switched off?

There is not a way to keep the throttle from stopping unless you declare the model an ELECTRO instead of a COMBUSTION.

Or you could just not put the throttle all the way to the bottom of its travel.

Hello GFK,

you can do two things that your engine stays idling.
1. When calibrating your tx, move also the trimm tab of the throttle up and down. If the trimm tab is in center position, your engine should keep running.
2. If you switch off the simulation->options->simulate tank emty option then you can also restart combustion engines.
