Hi all,

I'd like to thank the developers for this free sim I do like it. Although I regret the choise for staying with DirectX and not going for OpenGL killing all hopes for a port to other OS's. FMS is the only reason for having a Win32 OS on my PC :(

As with all sim's I have trouble locating the runway (disorientation). Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid this. I've curently drawn a black line right trough the runway on the ground textures going approx. in infinity, any better ideas?

Have a look on my . I have made a longer runway, and added some trees at one end of the runway.

Simply download the two files, and extract it (using Winzip) to the FMS/Landscape directory. Your old World scenery files will be replaced by my new files. If you want to restore your original landscape, these files are also available on my web.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

My son and I have been enjoying FMS for about two months, flying 20-30 minutes at a time, two to three times per week. Realizing that we could already land succesfully (most of the time), we decided to see if we could still find someone at the flying field who might be willing to teach us to fly our .40 ARF trainer late yesterday.

Someone there was happy to flight-test and trim our trainer; but then only reluctantly agreed to let me actually take over the controls because he didn't have a 'buddy cable' with him.

Much to his suprise, however, within minutes he had already decided that I could fly well enough, including doing figure 8's and landing path approaches, that he asked me to attempt to land it on my own, which I was able to do after only a couple of attempts, without as much as a scratched wing in spite of the fact that we had never flown before stumbling upon FMS.

Four full tanks of fuel later we had to reluctantly pack and go home, but only because by then it was too dark to fly safely.

It was an unforgettable end to the long Christmas weekend, with only a broken propeller and a few scratches on my third otherwise succesful landing, a wonderful experience that we all excitedly agreed would have been impossible without FMS.

On behalf of my son, myself, and I am sure countless others too busy flying to come back to this forum, thank you both, Michael and Roman Möller, for your amazing and completely self-less contribution to the world of R/C.
