Beginners Question........

Postby DragonHeart » Tue Jun 17, 2003 3:00 pm

Hi,

Just a quick question is thier any models similar to the Irvine Tutor 40 Trainer Model availble to download ?, also how close to the real thing is FMS, as i can seem to fly any plane easily landings and takeoffs etc using my Skysports 6 radio. Ive read on the forums the crystal should be taken out while using fms, but can i ask does it affect the radio in any other way or is it fine to use it with fms as ive just brought it and wouldnt want to ruin it as ive been using the gamebird transmiter before but its not the same as the real thing, also is it best to use the battery power or can it be pulgged in to the mains.

Sorry about all the questions but this seems the best place to learn and any help would be appreciated. Many Thx

I don't know of a Tutor 40 model but there are several high wing trainer models around and they all fly pretty much the same in the real world.

FMS is a bit easier to fly than real models, no wind, no panic etc so it's worth flying something a bit trickier than your real plane. If you can really fly any model, e.g. the Pitts, and get it to do exactly what you want and land it neatly on the runway every time you should do well with a real trainer.

Running the radio for long periods with the antenna down can damage it. Taking the crystal out prevents this.

It's easiest to use the battery. Otherwise you need to make or acquire a suitable power supply and then wire it up to the radio socket.

I have a Tiger Trainer 40 that you can . It flies very similar to the real thing.

Download the file, and using Winzip, extract all the files to Program Files/FMS/Models directory.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
