Hi,

Yes you can. To do it:

Click Controls Menu
Click Keyboard
Tell it what keys you want to do what
Click OK
Done

Hope that it helps

Hi,

Again the topic is Keyboard. I know keyboard is not the same as a real radio transmitter, but at least until I buy a real one, could some one give me idea what could be a good keyboard configuration to be as close as possible to Mode1 and respectively Mode2 transmitter.

This questions shows that I am a novice in RC and am not very clear how exactly are the movements in the two modes. Please help.

The keyboard really isn't anything like a transmitter. It won't help much with learning to fly. Even a joystick would be much better

About all you can do is put the controls on the correct "hand". The default keyboard layout is something like Mode 2 with throttle and rudder on the left of the k/bd and elevator and aileron on the right. For Mode 1 swap the throttle keys for the elevator keys.

Thanks Steve,

Which one is more common these days - Mode1 or Mode2? Question goes for UK (South)

Yes, I realise that keyboard is nothing like a transmitter, but at least while I am waiting to buy one, I could put some habits into my hands with the keyboard.

Thanks again

Almost everyone I know here in the South flies on Mode 2. Mode 1 seems to be somewhat more common north of Birmingham. No idea why.

Good luck - Steve

I just tried using the keyboard on my notebook, just to try out the program (adapter cable is on order), but a) the number pad keys do not work right, even though I can set my notebook to "num pad mode" where the keys 7,8,9,0,u,i,o,p,j,k,l,ö, etc... should generate numpad signals, but 8 seems to zoom out, 9 seems to rotate, etc...

b) now that wouldnt be so bad if i could change the keyboard definition. When i click on a function in the keyboard menu, the old definition disappears, but how do I get a new definition in? I'd expect pressing the desired key next would do it :-) but nothing happens.

I am using the Alpha 8.5 Version, maybe it's a new bug in it, and it works in the Betas?
