choppy animation

Im new to all this so please be patient, when I play I get frame by frame movement unless i get rid of all the senery then it flows fine. Im on windows 98 and have a older computer,i have enough memory to play, my processor speed is 333mg, I dont know what a video card is but was told I may need one, Ive down loaded direct x and made no difference HELP ??? ???

I'm running FMS on Win 98 and an old PII 300 and it's plenty fast enough. Sounds like your video card I'm afraid. What frame rate do you get with everything switched on (switch on the Frames Per Second display under View in the menu) ?
