no ppm signal - i get no no ppm signal

i have a jr xp662 radio and windows xp i have all the right settings in the simulater and it was working i havnt used it for about 2 weeks and now when i do i had no control so i went to the pic tester software and i have no ppm signal i noticed that when i pluded the plug on the interface cable out of the radio that it poped in for a second what could cause this any help would be great if you could email me with some input it would be great thanks nicknluttrell@comcast.net
