I downloaded the latest FMS software and downloaded the model\landscape downloader from the link below and I now have a ton of model aircraft of all types. Thought I would pass this along

It worked perfectly for me, and I'm running Windows Vista Premium Home edition service pack 1

Just waiting for my Heli and Simulator controler to start practicing

Well, it sounded too good to be true! After it was done I fired up the sim and now I don't have any models! I have tons of new folders, but they are all emtey! All of the other planes and helis and all the original ones are gone, except the one heli that was preloaded.

Locations too are messed up, when I try to pick some I get a "Acces violation at address 001664a3 in module 'coldet.dll' read of address 00000005"
Looks like I'll have to uninstall and reinstall the game. Sure glad I had backed up all my dnld`d planes and helis!

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the fms sim and I still have no models!! When I explore my computer and navigate to the model folder it's full of planes and helis, but the game sees nothing except the default plane. :shock:

Great! That wacked something out so bad that I can't even reinstall the sim!!! I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice now and with running just default folders the sim won't run. I have only one plane to choose from and that won't even move. The controler calibrates fine but the plane won't take off. The model folder is full, but the sim sees nothing there to load. Kinda pissed off now. Not at the program (I read the disclaimer!), at myself for using it. :roll:

OMG sorry to hear that..What simulator are you using? I am running the alpha version of FMS on Vista.

Again sorry to hear that. I'm at work right now but I will see if can get some info together on what the problem could be once I get home....That is part of the reason I installed everything and tested it over and over again before I recieved my heli and transmitter, just to be sure I could get it to work on my machine at home..... I'm thinking its a version issue with out really looking into it..like I said I'm running the latest version of fms (alpha) on vista, and you have to create a registry entry just to get the software to load on vista, but I'll see what I can come up with. Post what version of the simulator you are using and the OS you are using, and I'll try to at the very least help get it back to where you started.

I did notice that all the sites included on that software are not functional now and you get the errors that he was stating, and some you can't just hit the ok to continue you actually have to take the ones that were already scanned out of the list and load and run the scan again.

I'm also loading the alpha 8.5 fms sim.
I have windows Vista home premium w/ SP1
It's a laptop with a dual core Intel 2.16Ghz with 2 gigs system memory and an Nvidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX video card with 1/2 gig on board video memory.
