Just a thought or two on the subject.
I would think you need at least five channels to do auto rotations on the real helicopter. Pitch has to be seperate from the throttle.
Now in the sim ????
I think I played with my pitch channel being assigned to the pitch channel of the sim. (You need to use one of the interfaces that suports more than 4 channels since pitch is usually on channel 6? of your radio).
I 'm not sure you even need throttle on the sim when you fly helicopters.
When you use the pitch channel on a 6-8 channel radio I (think??) the pitch in the sim would follow the different pitch modes you have set in your radio.
Soulds like something I need to play with as soon as I get home from work.
In the sim, will the initial desent build up rotor speed before the flare like a real auto rotation ???? I have no idea.
