Ailerons on Throttle Stick? - Flying with Eclipse 7

All,

I'm new to FMS, got it going yesterday, I'm using a Hitec Eclipse Radio with the PIC interface. Here's my question: the ailerons are on the the throttle stick (left side) instead of the directional stick (right side), and the calibration setting in the FMS program doesn't seem to effect or change that mode. Do I change some program feature in my radio, to activate this mode or is there something in the FMS software that I'm missing here?

This could be a function of how the airplane models .par file is setup. Normal mode within the .par file is channel 1 rudder/steering, channel 2 elevator, channel 3 aileron and channel 4 throttle. The channel numbers are associated with wing surfaces, the motor(s) and the wheels.

See if they are mapped differently than you expect. On 3 channel airplanes (R/E/T), I'll map the rudder to channel 3 to keep the steering on the right stick.

Thanks for your quick reply. The RES models in the program fly off the right stick as you indicate, it's the four and five channel planes that require using the left stick for both throttle and ailerons. In "real life" I fly 3 channelpark flyers all the way up to 8 channel full house sailplanes and all of the directional control is on the right stick.

Can I not change the controls in the radio or the program settings to accomodate what I'm used to?

Are you sure you've set the correct channel numbers in the boxes on LH side of the calbration screen ?

And remember to immediately set both AIRPLANE and HELI channels.
This will avoid questions when you change model type.
I include the correspondences with french and english names:

Aircraft -> heli

Throttle=gaz -> Pitch =pas
Ailerons=aileron -> Cyclique latéral=roll
Profondeur=elevator -> cyclique longitudinal= nick
Direction= rudder -> Anti-couple = tail =yaw
