Just received a Colco Cyclone helicopter with 6 Channel RC (only uses 4). Checked out FMS using the keyboard. If I press 'G' on the keyboard for throttle increase, then the helicopter image lifts off. If I press 'B' for throttle decrease, it descends. Couldn't be simpler. Plugged the RC it into COM1 and did the calibrate - all the expected bars moved up and down. I selected a helicopter model, increased the throttle - nothing. Tried another helicopter, same thing. Tried all the available helicopter models, none worked. Tried an aeroplane - it works! The fact that I can fly (well, crash mostly) the aeroplanes indicates that there's no problems with drivers and connection and FMS's reponse to the RC. For some reason the helicopter models are not responding to the same actions that the aeroplanes are. There must be something about the helicopter models that requires different input or settings. The throttle works on aeroplanes, but not on helicopters. I'm using FMS 2.0 Beta 7, Windows XP Home SP2, Serial PIC-interface, 19200 Baud/0xFF Sync. I've left the channel mappings at the defaults, because I don't know any better. I can work out what 'Inv' means, but what's 'Exp'? Could anybody who's had any success at flying helicopters from an RC in FMS please supply their settings and connection details? I don't really want to break my new toy just because I've no idea how it's supposed to respond to the controls. Thanks a Lot:)
