Basics of building a model - pointers on building models

Ok, I am new at this. Give me URL's of model building programs and I would also like to know small pointers of building a model, like when you make one how do you get a picture of the model instead of just the location your flying at and the camera moving around (lol i think its kinda funny). Yall prolly think im retard, but I am willing to learn.

You'll need Metasequoia LE 2.1 to properly save the correct DirectX .x file from Meta. The newer version doesn't save correctly for FMS.

i think the newer version is better for modeling.

much more precise when scaling, moving, rotating.

creatng primatives is cool too, lets you see what its gonna look like, instead of guessing, or having to be a mathmatics professor... ???

you can always load the model into 2.1, when your done, and export it to .x

thanks for the info you 2, but i would like to know how to program my own airplane. As in I would like to creat its own unique drag, torque, throw, controll surfaces, ect. Gary, i downloaded your FMS2.8-plane-field-editor but you can only fart around with pre existing plane with that. Ive figured out how to make them and its really fun, i even got my friends into it, hehe. Thanks alot for your Kick Butt web site ggunners, helped alot!!

Mr. Masuoka's program works best for creating brand new .par files for new models.

Of course, I always start with a model that's close anyway. It helps get a new model flying sooner.
