FMS Alpha 8.1 Crashes!!!

Hey ya'll is there any one that is having the same problem with winXP and alpha 8.1? I couldn't even get into the program. It crashes and winXP gives me an error report immediately after i run the program. My comp : amd xp1700+ ati radeon 9600 pro.

it is probably your video card, FMS does not work with ATI Radeon cards, so it looks like it does not work with 8.1 either.

Yes suntex!! New Fms alpha version crashes on my notebook
Acer Aspire 1353Lc amdxp 2,4 beacause doesn´t have a serial port conexion. The same version don´t crashes on my
desktop amd xp 2000 and only it´s best than older version in
the reference on planes controlls that´s very much precision..

I had been having the same crash problems with my desktop computer untill you mentioned serial ports which I had mine turned off in the BIOS, turned them on and now FMS Alpha 8 works just fine with my ATI Radeon 9800. I find it very strange that a serial port being disabled would crash FMS in WinXP. I don't have a modem installed but now have both serial ports on and FMS works beautiful.

Hi,
I have tried all versions since FMS v6 and they all crash under Xp. Also v6 works but the trees have black backgrounds, any ideas or helpfull suggestions.
I have a TE2000 satellite pro laptop running Xp at 1.2Gig Hz with 128 CyberAladin graphics controller.

if you get an EEnumComPort or EComPort or similar, then you have to make sure that there is a serial port enabled on your system.

If your system reboots or your get blue-screens, the problem is most likely your graphics card or your agp-port on the mainboard. Try to get the latest driver for your graphcis card and your mainboard and install them properly.
