Source Code - Is the source code available for FMS

I'm not suggesting FMS becomes public domain but is there a way people can contribute towards development. ???

i think it would be cool if you could just send commands from an external source, like a console, where you could have it randomly change sim values, like wind, thermals, etc. I know this could be done without having to re-initalize the simulator.
