FMS Wishlist

What do you want to see in the next version of FMS? Here are my suggestions:

Support for moving parts.
New aircraft
Bigger landscapes
All the favorites from Beta 7 (BF109, Supercup, etc.) but updated

Let's hear some of yours!

Most of all I would like to know when the next version of FMS is coming out say in 2007 or 2010 ? I'm not inpatient I just whan't to know if there is going to be a new .par or .scn file ? Befor I spend a lot of time on plane's & Map's.
I love FMS and really like the programer's that make it what it is Today!!

Maybe some extra features you can turn on or off.

Make it harder to crash a helicopter... i mean make it easier to fly (for beginners).

Larger landscapes, yes.

Is it possible to change the view perspective a bit? Move around the landscape before takeoff?

The graphics of the sim maybe..

Other that that, GREAT sim.

I can't see the point of bigger landscapes. I have trouble seeing the planes already

But lights, Parachute and a Drop Payload button would be nice.

multiplayer is the biggest, next is to leave all the planes off previous versions and add some more, being able to customize your plane would be nice too, might could add some cars or trucks..... but that wouldnt be flying... o well just suggestions! great already!, but always room for improvements!

Multi-player has already been addressed by Lego, apparently it takes a lot of extra CPU power for two or more active inputs and aircraft. One thing that could be added is an AI simulation of extra aircraft, like the old WWI combat flight sim RedBaron3D has for the Campaign section. What would be nice would be a flight recorder and playback that you could fly along with.

I'd like to see active flight surfaces, breakaway model parts for collisions, with proper detection of the correct parts. Slope wind simulation and slowly changing wind conditions. And expanded flight areas.

Hi all,

I've seen a lot of whishes and proposals for FMS lately, some of them reviving threads from 2002. To me, there is absolutely no sign of active developement. I suggest the following exercise: click on "memberlist" and read the very first entry; it's the developer of the software and owner of this board. His last appearance on this board was actually in February 2005, almost two years ago by now. Does this look like there's a new version coming out anytime soon?

FMS is certainly great for what it is, but I believe any hope for more is futile.

Frank, that's a dark assesment... I'm not sure I agree, but I also think that this website gets attention only when it really needs it.

So has anyone contacted either Michael or Roman lately? I also don't see much use for Metasequoia LE if FMS slowly goes away. I'm hoping that the Moellers have an eye on this board, It's been the one of the few bright spots of this new century in RC modeling.

perhaps I'm wrong after all - I just noticed the last installment from Roman Moeller is dating from April 2006, saying something about reworking the rendering engine... Keep your eyes peeled!
