Landing Gear Retraction - Is it possible to fake retractable LG?

If models take only an instant to change, can you enable the landing gear channel to switch from one model (with landing gear) to another (without) while in flight?

I was rather hoping not to be dismissed so quickly. This is the "Suggestions" forum and it is my hope that my comment would inspire a change in FMS software. The important question to ask is... is the switch from one model to another so fast that it can be done in the air without it being too distracting?

Most people think in terms of the facet model articulating to retract its gears, but I'm offering a way around it which would be very easy to do and compatible with many of the models already made in two configurations; one with and without gear.

Well if we are making suggestions for the next FMS how about some partical effects; dust and smoke, this would be great for crashes and low ground skimming, but maybe a bit much for this program to handle.

Your idea for debris inspired this thought:
Midair explosions might also be simulated with my suggestion for mid-air model switching. Instead of having two models --with landing gear and without-- you could have 6 or 8 facet models in various stages of airplane breakup.

This is an RC sim, not a flight sim. Why wound your plane explode?
