Need beta tester for SkyPick - Landscape Sky bitmap utility manager

The code is in early beta. A quick bitmap manager to swap sky bitmaps between landscapes, also a bunch of alternates to try:

download here (limited time):

Create a subfolder under ...\fms\landscape name: Alternate
Create a subfolder under Alternate name: sky
unzip and copy the files to this folder, probably:
c:\program files\fms\landscape\alternate\sky
run SkyPick.exe

I'm working on the instructions page (and the install program):

OK, I finally got it downloaded. It works flawlessly and it saves a lot of headache if you want to change the sky where you are flying. You guys need to check this thing out. It is great. Now if only we could figure out a way to add some wind to FMS we would be there.... :p

hey,

the program looks good.

i noticed that helihobby.com is selling interfaces, with them they include a cd that has your program on it and a lot of peoples models on it.

did you give them permission?

HeliHobby.com is one of my dealers. Sean did seek full permission (Sean is also very knowledgeable of helis and electronics)

Interfaces from HeliHobby includes SkyPick in the distribution CD.

Hmmmm. something goes wrong for me....
When I run SkyPick , the Sky Image Selector screen looks good, but after the <ok> button. It says "File Not Found".

Here is how my fms is installed
E:\fms7 and SkyPick is added like this
E:\fms7\Landscape\Alternate\sky

Hello Airbatix:

Since you have a "custom" path for the installation, something may have went wrong there. Check your Registry for the entry HKEY-CURRENT_USER\[Flying Model Simulator] and tell me what are the values of [InstallationPath] and [LastScenePath].

I would recommend to uninstall everything and reinstall the programs (FMS and Skypick) to E:\Program Files\FMS instead of E:\FMS7 to see if that helps

Re-installed fms to the default path
SkyPick is working ok :)


ps. Have you tryed to use a sky.bmp with blue background
and put in some letters (like a compass N-E-W-S)
Then you allways know where the runway is??
