What is FMS 2.0 Beta 7 supporting?

1.In the Manual (version 2.0 beta 7) it is written that you can use a simple circuit both for parallel and serial port and it will work.

2. Under Information it says:
- New driver (32-Bit-VXD) for ppm serial- and parallelport interfaces
- Serial PIC interface (Windows 2000 compatible !!!)

What does it mean? Are the Hardware interfaces that convert the PPM signal in sth different? Into what...
a) a virtual joystick?

I mean it is generally differenciated between serial and PIC but are there different Possiblities for the Parrallel port to be used with a PPM signal?

Is there a difference between Win 9X and WinXP? meaning that the driver exist but does not work with WinXP only Win9X

3. However under FAQs it says that you can NOT use simple Parallel and Serial Interfaces..
WITH Windows XP/2000!!!

I dont get the difference, but is there any development allowing to use the PPM signal with the Parallelport AND WinXP in the FUTURE?

The serial PIC interface works with both 16-bit and 32-bit versions of windows.

The parallel interface works with 16-bit Windows 9x/ME and with NT/2K/XP if the PPJOY program is used.

USB interfaces work with all versions of Windows.

sells interfaces as well as other vendors if you have $20 to spend and don't want to build your own.
