Joystick interface - why am I on "joystick 2" ?

Got a USB interface cable for my old Futaba skyport 4 to run FMS...I was hoping. Pretty much a rookie at this stuff but after an hour or so, I appear to have the transmitter responding in Windows control panel as well as FMS joystick interface. But when I hit "resources", it is "joystick 2" that I am moving/controlling...and the planes aren't responding. Suggestions?[/b]

Under Window's, control panel, game controller, advanced setting, I had picked the wrong "preferred device".
