Ailerons and Elevators only?

Ailerons and Elevators only?

Postby Pete-123 » Thu Sep 27, 2007 11:40 pm

Hello,

I love the software, thanks!

The plane I'm interested has only 3 channels: Ailerons, elevator, and throttle.

I configured my controller such that these are the only controls available to me, and can fly the plane successfully. However, my question is, is this realistic for how a plane with these 3 channels would fly? I have a dual-analogue controller, and set the left one to be throttle (up and down) and the right one to be ailerons (left<->right) and elevator (up<->down).

I had to take off the other channels from the left analogue left-to-right.

Does this seem reasonable, and will the plane behave similarly to what it would in real life?

Thanks!

That setup is what is called Mode 2 on real RC transmitters. It's the most common in many parts of the world. BTW you pull the elevator stick back towards you to make the plane go UP and push away to make it go DOWN.....you'd be amazed how many people get that the wrong way round.

Good deal. So then this setup on FMS should be fairly accurate? And yes, that's how I have my controller set up. I'm getting somewhat good at controlling it like this!

Thanks again!
