Control Problem

I have been using the system 3000 Tower hobbies transmitter on my simulator and have figured out how to configure the joystick calibration for planes, but I have never flown helicopters but would like to try it on the simulator. However, I do not know what controls on the Tx control the surfaces on the heli, i.e., I do not know what controls tilt, etc.. If you could please give me guidance on how to calibrate my Tx for helicopter flight by telling me which stick, left stick up and down or left stick left and right, etc. etc. does what. I have tried just about every combination and cannot seem to get my Tx to effectively control the heli. Also, do updates get sent through email or do you have to download off of this site? Just keep the numbers in order when transferring the 4 items from the airplane calibration to the heli calibration. That makes it much easier.
