Graphics Problem - Invisible Plane

I have installed FMS Alpha 8.5 but I can't see the plane and some of the scenery. I have tried changing the settings but nothing works. I have a AMD Athlon 1.1GHz computer running Windows XP. I have 384 MB Ram, N Vidia Ge Force 4 MX 4000 with 128MB of Ram, and DirectX 9.0c. I am using a Futaba Conquest FP-T4NBF Controler and a PIC serial cable. Can anyone help?

First upgrade your video driver to the latest version.

Then check and uncheck some of the video options. There may be some that are better supported by the video driver.

Are all models transparent or only some?

I Have the latest upgrade for my video card as of two weeks ago. I have also tried all of the different video settings in FMS. All of the models are doing the same thing. I can see a shadow but that is it. Also the scenery disappears and reappears as the model is moving.

I'm at a loss to help you out. I don't run XP, just Win2K.

Can you view any .x files in other applications? Try my ParFieldEditor from my website. It displays the .x 3D model in a window after it loads the .par file.



Also, if you download one of my models. Also download and install Metasequoia LE, a free 3D modeling package. I've sometimes found that resaving a .x file will help it reappear which points to an issue with DirectX on your computer and video card or an error in the .x files. However, if all your models behave the same in FMS, I'd suspect some graphics card setting is causing a problem.

i also hav that problem
im on windows 98 but on mine the planes donnt totally disaper they just go see through but the scenary still disapers

Same problem here on my home computer running win2000 but runs fine on my work laptop with XP?? I really need to run it at home and not on the work laptop.... please help us
