grahpics not that great

on the new beta 7, i loaded it and it said i needed directx 7 or higher. well, i played the game for a while then loaded dx8 and i haven't notcied a difference. my graphics card and computer are very good, they play most games like unreal and the likes with awsome detail, but fms landscape and ground is all pixelated and not that great. anyone have problems with this?

I too had problems of the sort you describe.
There is a special download on the homepage marked "here" I think of compilations with different settings to try and overcome some of the problems.

I tried it last night and the version "doflip" solved all my problems. Although the framerate dropped somewhat it was perfectly playable and a great improvement.

the problem with my bad graphics was solved by using the "FMS_dbg_nomip.exe" file you can download from the main page.

just for the record i have a celeron 733, 128 megs of ram, Canopus Spectra (riva TNT) 16 meg agp graphics card, direct X 8 installed, windows 98 SE, sound blaster sound card (with the interupt sharing disabled so i can use my transmitter from the parallel port), and i'm using a JR Max 4 channel transmitter with homemade interface. hope this helps anyone else figure out some problems they might have.
