I'm currently running FMS on a P4 1.7mhz, 512 ram with a nvidia gforce 3 ti 200 graphics card and windows XP. It works great, however FMS will not recognise my Futaba skysport 6a rc controller in the serial port.
Is there a solution to this?
How can i get my controller to work?
Also could i use a USB port to connect my controller with?

You need to use the new PIC serial interface when you have XP. You can use USB, I will be doing one in about 2 weeks that will work with any PC program which uses input from a PC joystick port.
