the main reason of my efforts to insert pictures into postings was this:
This is a texture mapping experience, so far. It is a square consists of four points, that is only one face, covered with the .bmp file of Pitts.
I think this is an almost minimal size .X file.
It is flying over FMS runway, and proves for me that as far as Par7 parameter files and this way the FMS flying characteristics are concerned there is no role of the .X file, only that the object should be over the runway while in standstill.
The "Magic Carpet" is wider than the runway and it is flying the same way as my SlyLadyx (it is a small 1.3m model) because the same (renamed) .par7 files are used. It is nice to stunt fly (or trick flying?) with it.
Later I might post requests at the MODEL forum because in the coming weeks I would like to understand, how .par8 files should be produced.
So far the Masuoka's ParConv-erter is not working for me, and I dont know what is the role of .X file in this respect.
ParEdit on the other hand can open only existing par8 files.
But how to start?
It is interesting that opening .par7 files it signals error but afterwards the .X file based model structure is shown.
It is possible that renaming one existing .par8 file, one can start working, but in principle this is a chicken and egg problem.
I am going to begin the work based on this idea and design parallel for SkyLady and the "Magic Carpet" par8 files starting from one renamed par8 file.
If ready I will see how they are flying if the "Carpet" could fly at all with .par8 files.
