Which Interface to use ???? - Which Interface to use ????

With the nearing release of Bata 7 it is time for me to get serious about building an interface.

Which type of interface would you recomend for Beta 7, most stable??
(Serial, Parallel, Joystick)?
I could also buy one if I was sure it would work!

I will be using an Airtronics RD6000 Super and Win/2000.
A second computer is my 266 mhz laptop with Win95.

I also have an older Futaba AM that I would like to get working with FMS. (RD6000 / Win2000 is prime setup).

I will be mostly flying helicopters (Ergo 30SS CCPM Schweitzer)

Hey john.. as far as i know serial/parallel interfaces dont work on win2000/xp , go with the joystick interface. 0r dual boot2000/98 and have the best of both worlds

I think they fixed that with Release Beta 7. We shall see.

If I have a choice, which type of interface is the most stable?

Which gives the most control?

I would guess that the new microcontroller based design that will be released with Beta 7 will be the very best of the bunch. Perhaps it is worth waiting a week or so to find out

If you really insist on starting now I'd recommend the serial port version simply because the serial ports tend not to be so overused and you rarely have to fiddle about in the BIOS with the different types like the parallel port. All the evidence I've seen suggests that either interface type will work well with the new Beta I've only seen a very early version but I doubt if the release version will be worse.
