Buddy Box Question

i have a question - i am about to purchase a futaba buddy box - SKYSPORT 4VF. i know it does not have batteries. does it atleast have a place to put in batteries? do i need to use a a/c adapter? i know this is a dumb question, but i would like to know. thanks in advance

It doesn't need batteries to work as a buddy box but if you want to use it with a simulator you will need to put in batteries or arrange to use an a/c adaptor.

I don't know how the one you're getting is kitted out, you'll have to look when you get it. It will probably either have connections for dry batteries or, more likely, a plug to fit a NiCd.

i got the buddy box and the interface to go from the computer to the tx. i have a universal a/c adapter. could somebody please tell me what voltage and whether the inner or outer part of the lead that goes into the charging socket is positive. also, do i need to get a battery pack to run it, or will the radio work without a battery pack, just the a/c adapter? the tx is a futaba skysport t4vf.

Just use a a/c adapter 9v regulated and connect the plus to pin 1 on the trainer socket. I have it setup this way. I solderd another cable into the 6 pin plug (on pin 1) and that is connected it to the adapter. you don't have to turn on your buddy box
