PPM drivers

OK...here we go...running vista with a dynam NE-KO4 transmitter. Downloaded the ppm drivers, along with the smartpropop plus prog. Everytime I plug the USB cable that came along with the unit, it keeps telling me that the PPM drivers can not be found. When going to the device manager, it shows the PPM, but in checking further, I found that it stills says that drivers not working, code 1 error. When I try to reinstall....nothing
AM able to operate program with keyboard but not transmitter.
Anybody got any ideas????
