ACCESS VIOLATION ????

Some time when I down load a model or landscape from a site [Proclaiming
itself FMS friendly] I will try to view the model and I will get a pop-up witch
reads

ACCESS VIOLATION AT ADDRESS 0047F4EE IN MODULE " FMS.EXE." READ OF ADRESS 00000000.

This leaves my FMS program LOCKEDUP AND i HAVE TO QUIT THE PROGRAM.

Then I have to go into my 7Zip Files and delete all of the folders of the offending Download to stop my system crashing again. I find this quite harrowing and have throne out the wrong file more than once .

So I suppose my question is What dose this violation mean and what can I do to fix an offending File or is it something else.

This happens becuase you have to convert the images files
from .jpeg into .bmp files.

I know it's a pain becuase some of the instructions are not
in english , but if you read the instructions that are in english
it'll say you must convert the images files into .bmp files to
make it work. The Text files btw are text of instrutions. Sometimes
the aurthur will give the intructions on the download post
or thread.

#2, in photolistic sceneries, when you first load a scenery that's working.
First you'll get a white screen with only the model.
To fix this simply....click on the graphic table
click option (at the bottom of table)
click the OK tab

Also trun off the FOG. This will give you a clearer scenery in
photolistic mode.
The fog is use to disguise the space in between the terrian
and sky in the regular type or stock sceneries.

you can download 36 files conversion (software) for free.
this way you can convert the images in batches.

or you can use any type of photo or art software
to convert...save as...then you'll see file types options.

#3 the photolistic sceneries you download from rc-sim
has improper fisheye or improper projections.
you'll find it distrubing after a while.

to create, convert your own or resolve this problem simply
down load the reflex sceneries from the reflex section.
Retrieve the S1or S2 image files out of them.
the equirectangular images are in 8160x 3060....incomplete 360x180.
The bottom of the photo is missing.
Simply increase the canvas size to 8160x 4080 before loading
into a converter.

Use the sphere to cube (skybox) convertor...it also free.
this converter will spit out images with proper fisheyes

there's a thread in the landscape section by some dude name smcxx66.
there's a link for the cube converter too...
the converter spits out images in .bmp files .
select 1024 x 1024

simply change out the images file and keep the same name
or open the .scn file to edit texture names to your liking with NOTEPAD
