Forum email

I have sent two emails to members of this forum. They appear in my outbox but not in my sent box. There doesn't seem to be any way to send them from the outbox. By appearing in the outbox, does this mean they have been sent or is there some other means of sending them?
In my experience of email an outbox is for mail pending sending and the sent box means it's sent

Well blow me down with a feather! No sooner do I post a query re email, it starts working and my posts appear in my sent folder...now that is what you call weird - lol

this is the same in all phpBB based forums. When you write a pm it goes first to the outbox. When the recipient opens the message (and hopefully reads it) it moves from your outbox to your sent box. The phpBB considers a pm only as "sent" when it actually has been received (opened).
