Hi! I have recently aquired a dragonfly heli, with simulator, but am unable to get my laptop to work with it. My laptop has no serial port available, so I have a serial / usb. adapter.but the sim will not calibrate!
Please reply in simple terms, as I am relatively new to both windows XP and to helicopters!!
dragonfly simulator - will it work with USB. adapter on XP.

Out of experience, the Dragonfly Tx does not work with the supplied serial cable alone. There is a driver called PPJoy from Deon van der Westhuisen that has to be used, but again, will work only with lots of effort. One needs to use the Zhen Hua option under PPJoy, as the output of the Dragonfly Tx is not a standard signal as used on branded name transmitters.
The PPJoy driver will "convert" the Dragonfly data, and make it available as a standard joystick under Control Panel/Gaming Options. I do not have a download link for PPJoy, but I am sure you will find a site by searching under Google.
The other alternative is to purchase a dedicated "Zhen Hua" interface. Currently, I think that it's only in the UK that sells this type of interface.
